patch skirt

Charm Pack Squares Skirt

This little skirt is made from 5 inch squares of material. For mine I purchased two small charm packs of Moda's "Yuletide Blessing" fabric. For mine I used 32 squares. You could use more and the skirt would be fuller, but I wouldn't suggest using less unless you want a straight skirt instead of a gathered skirt. This makes about a size 4-6 skirt. Waist sizes from about 18 inches to about 22 inches. The length is approximately 12 inches.

Button Shirt to Toddler Dress

So ridiculously EASY! All you need is a few measurements - no need to make a pattern or anything. Using the original shirt's buttons, etc. saves you from that nonsense. The back yoke made a nice lined bodice - it was even slightly gathered where it joins with the skirt part. The straps used the existing sleeves - you make one straight cut to get each strap piece. And they are one piece with elastic - no gathering! yay!

Easy T-Shirt Pants

First, you take a long-sleeved t-shirt belonging to your husband or brother, and while your child is asleep, cut the two required pieces to make pants. It takes about 5 minutes. It’s just a left leg and a right leg. Then, sew them together. Now ten minutes have passed. Your kid should still be sleeping!

Bandana Pants

These easy, inexpensive, pants take only about 15 minutes to make, so you can just about live in them during the summer. They are great for slipping on after a day at the lake or the pool! The pants will fit most kids from age 4 to about 10. Of course on the older ones, they will be more like shorts than pants.

Fun Wrap Skirt

This is the J shape each of the 10 panels the skirt is made out of.  It is approx. 7" wide and 24" long.  Sewn together, mine are about 5' long, but you can adjust it to wrap around your body around 1 1/2 times.  No patterns here! Carefully pin together the J's, starting at the top.  Once long enough, sew a long waist band/tie for it, leaving a ~5' opening, so it can go around the skirt once flipped to righ-side out.
